Henry finally appears before court in connection to Airport Drug haul caseBy HTS

IMPHAL, June 14 -- Complying the directives of Session Judge (Fast Track Court) ND and PS, Manipur, MLA, Wangkhei assembly constituency, O. Henry appeared before the court during the special trail of Airport drug seizure case of January 11, 2013.

Additional Session Judge (FTC) ND and PS, Manipur on May 28 ordered not to entertain any further prayer of MLA, Okram Henry after he had failed to appear before the Court many times consecutively during the Special trail in connection with the infamous Airport drug seizure case.

The persons charged sheeted by the CBI in connection with the said Airport drug haul case including MLA O. Henry, Md. Rajauddin and Sapam Angus alias Naoba appeared before the court but other charge sheeted accused L. Tarpon, Rajneesh Kumar and Ramveer Tyagi were represented by their counsels.

In the meantime, statements were taken from two prosecution witness of CBI identified as IGP Konsam Jyanta, 54, son of (L) K. Kamo of Wangkhei Laishram Leikai and businessman, S. Gopinath, 31, son of S. Srinivasm of 3rd street, Panmal Chennai.

Mentioned may be made that Additional Session Judge (Fast Track Court) ND and PS Manipur after obtaining official order from the High Court of Manipur initiated trail of infamous Airport Drug Hauled case after it has been transferred from Special Judge ND and PS Manipur. The team of Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Manipur Police department seized huge consignment of drugs worth about Rs. 1.4 Crore from Imphal Tulihal Airport on January 11, 2013.

After official approval, the case was handed over to CBI for thorough investigation. CBI after thorough investigation submitted the charge sheets before the court against all accused persons.
