The duke of Cambridge, who arrived in the Arab country on Dec. 1, left this Tuesday to be in Oman by nightfall, the other stop on his tour of Persian Gulf countries, his London residence Kensington Palace announced on its royal Twitter account.
During his stay in Kuwait, he traveled by car to the Jahra Pools Nature Reserve, where he observed the landscape with prism binoculars and learned more “about Kuwait’s ambitious plans” to protect nature from the “human and environmental threats” it faces, according to Kensington Palace.
As part of the Arab country’s efforts to fight the pollution created by plastic waste, the prince went so far as to join in the cleaning of a beach in the reserve and to identify birds in those natural surroundings.
He also had time to soak up rural Kuwaiti culture in the desert outside the city of Kuwait, where he could see at first hand how falconry is practiced and visit a traditional campsite, according to photos released by the palace.
On the military level, Prince William took part in a training exercise together with British and Kuwaiti troops, and finally, he met with the emir of the country at Bayan Palace, as did his grandmother and his father in their time.
Al-Sabah, 90, is in a delicate state of health and returned to his country last October from the United States, where he suffered an illness that forced him to postpone a meeting with President Donald Trump.
